Members of the Illinois State Legislative Board,
I hope this report finds all of you and your families well and healthy. I am asking that you read this email in its entirety, as I have tried to include some timely links and information that I feel is important. Please give your best effort disseminating this to our Illinois Brothers and Sisters.
First, my hope is that you are all still pursuing proper protections and procedures on our respective properties regarding COVID 19. It is very clear; we will be continuing to deal with this pandemic for the foreseeable future. I appreciate all of your excellent efforts in resolving these issues locally as well as keeping me updated as they develop. (See attached PDF)
In an effort to build a sustained income stream for our scholarship fund please find attached the flyer and registration form for Our first annual golf outing. I am requesting you help me promote it by actively posting the details where you see fit, participating in the outing, and/or even asking your Division to donate, sponsor a hole etc. (See attached PDF)
Getting out the vote will be vital this election cycle, I am asking you actively encourage your members to register to vote. Then vote. Inspire friends and family members to vote PRO LABOR! The current environment for labor is very hostile and we have to elect officials who will give organized labor a seat at the table. I have attached the very easy to use Illinois online voter registration/verification link.
Almost as important as getting out the vote, is our collective effort to get our members to give to the BLET PAC. Please ask your members frequently and stress that we use those funds to get PRO LABOR candidates elected. It really is an investment in our political and regulatory future as unionized workers.
The FRA is restructuring and is currently being watered down by Administrator Batory. Yes, he was appointed by President Trump. With these changes, the process for reporting violations now go directly to Washington DC via an online reporting process. I have included the link and recommend you familiarizing yourself with the process.
The BLET official endorsement list is not ready for release yet but, I will forward it to all of you as soon as it is available. I encourage you to distribute and post it wherever you see fit. Remember, even family and friends help us win elections.
Please become a member of our Facebook private group BLET/ISLB. I try to post addition information specifically relevant to us as Legislative Reps.
